‘Grosso’ Lavender is hardier than other varieties . It is a French hybrid Lavender that is grown for its fragrant dark blue flower spikes and vigorous growth habit. It has very good cold hardiness and heat tolerance. This beauty drys and preserves very well. ‘Grosso’ lavender has flowers that have larger heads, a darker purple hue and more intense fragrance. What more could you want? ‘Grosso’ is a hybrid, the result of breeding two different lavenders, English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and (Lavandula latifolia). It is used commercially to make soaps, lotions and aromatherapy products. Grows 36″ tall and 24″ and more wide .
