Description
Lavandula stoechas ‘Otto Quast’ (Spanish Lavender)
It was discovered in the early 1980s by Otto Quast of Point Reyes California and first introduced by Homestead Nursery in Santa Rosa California. Lavender stoechas is one of the earliest lavenders to bloom. It is said by some to be showiest of all the lavenders. It has dark purple, fragrant blooms that burst up thru evergreen silver gray foliage. (Ok, maybe not bursting, but they do rise up thru the foliage). Grows in zones 7-9 growing 20 to 24″ tall and 18 to 36″ wide.
You know you “Otto” have a few of these! (you had to know that was coming)
