Description
Goodwin Creek Lavender is a long-lived and vigorous plant that forms a compact shrub to 2 to 3 feet tall 2 to 3 feet wide. It has silvery-grey, toothed-edged leaves. The blooms are deep purple in tight whorled spikes on short stems. Plant in full to part sun, minimum 5 hours of sunlight to bloom well. Needs to live in a well-drained soil and irrigate. It is hardy to 15 – 20°F. Grows in zones 7-10. Goodwin Creek Lavender is heat tolerant and does well in the high humidity found in the southeastern US. A good choice for a winter blooming indoor lavender and topiary. This great plant was a chance seedling found in 1999 beneath a Lavandula dentata by Jim and Dotti Becker’s of Goodwin Greek Gardens in Williams, Oregon. If you ask me, it would be a Good Win to get this Goodwin Creek Lavender!
